Find out about the different types of support available at Recovery Near You, from structured courses to peer-led groups.
In this video, Karl, a member of the team explains the difference between courses and groups, and how each plays a different role in supporting people with problematic substance use.
Courses are structured educational programmes with a clear beginning, middle and end, providing information, advice and guidance around substance use and recovery. They are delivered by members of the team alongside volunteers.
The service also offers a range of open-ended groups led by people with lived experience of substance use. These include SMART Recovery, Alcoholics Anonymous, art and gardening groups, alongside other forms of peer and community support.
People can access these groups flexibly, dropping in and out depending on what support works best for them.
