Dry January

As our attention turns to the coming year, here at Recovery Near You we are looking to make healthy changes for 2021.

As part of this we would like to raise awareness of Dry January. I expect that quite a few of us have had too much cheer over Christmas and the New Year and have then felt the after effects: sore head, upset stomach and general apathy. How many of us have thought how much is too much?

Dry January

Dry January focuses on a month of no alcohol. A month without alcohol can help to lower blood pressure and cholesterol, helping you to sleep better, lose weight and help you save money! More importantly, evidence shows that people who do Dry January with support are still drinking more healthily and report higher levels of wellbeing six months later.
